SURREY - Nobody was injured in a two-alarm fire that did heavy damage to a Surrey house on Wednesday morning.

Deputy Chief Karen Fry, of the Surrey fire department, said the occupants are being helped by Surrey Emergency Social Services.

"Two families have been displaced," she said. Six fire trucks and their crews were called to the house, at 8856 134A St., at 9:30 a.m. to find heavy smoke.

"They protected the other houses very well," Fry said.

Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the fire. Fry said it's not considered suspicious.

"Not at this time."
