If your wee ones ever wanted a chance to get up close with Buzz Lightyear or Woody - two of the beloved characters from Disney's Toy Story 3 - then they have a chance to do so on Tuesday, Nov. 22.

That's when Buzz and Woody will be at Central City Shopping Centre, 102nd Avenue and King George Boulevard.

The two characters are appearing courtesy of the Disney On Ice Toy Story 3 show, which is set to hit the ice at Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver Nov. 23-27 and in Abbotsford from Nov. 18-20.

Buzz and Woody are making a special stop in Surrey as part of a fundraiser for Surrey Christmas Bureau. Children who want to attend the meet-and-greet with Buzz and Woody are asked to bring a new unwrapped toy for the Christmas bureau.

This is the perfect time of year for children in Surrey to help less fortunate youngsters in their own city. Each year, the bureau assists hundreds of low-income families with children under the age of 16. Through its hamper and Adopt-A-Family programs, these families receive food certificates, toys, gifts, warm clothing and household items.

"On behalf of Blackwood Partners Management Corp. and Central City, we are thrilled to be partnering with the Surrey Now to welcome Disney to downtown Surrey," said marketing and communications manager Michelle Mackay. "This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to get close and personal with two famous Disney characters from Toy Story 3, Buzz Lightyear and Woody, for a good cause!

"Central City is becoming known as 'the place where things happen' and we thank both the Now and Disney for this wonderful opportunity."

The meet-and-greet and toy drive will take place from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov.

22 near Bed, Bath and Beyond. The meet-and-greet is limited to the first 200 children.
