Bridge ads a waste

The Editor,

One-half page advertisement from the province of B.C. letting those of us who live south of the Fraser know we can save commuting time by using the new Port Mann Bridge when it opens?

Really? And yet still no word on how much this "time-saving" crossing is going to cost those of us who are being punished because of where we live.

Just a thought - could the cost of the print, radio and web advertisements the provincial government is spending perhaps not be better spent ensuring the new bridge is accessible and free to all those in the province who will use it?

Or is this government afraid that, like the underused Golden Ears bridge, people will say, "No" and the new bridge will also remain empty?
