Re: "Attack ads against Dix are ironic," the Now, Jan. 29.

My thoughts on attack ads are consistent with my dislike for bullying. Political parties set very low standards with attack ads and I will not vote for parties that depend on them for votes.

Interesting that a recent ad attacked the NDP for overspending on the Inland Island highway. Most islanders are happy that it was finally built. The B.C. Liberals would do well not to talk about overspending as they have doubled the provincial debt, mainly in the last four years.

I think the B.C. Liberals made a mistake to bring B.C. Ferries and the fast cats into the fray. Today's voters will remember the B.C. Ferry Corporation with David Hahn's million-dollar salary and huge retirement benefits, continually rising fares and the sinking of the Queen of the North - surely more than a match for the fast cats fiasco.

Both parties have mismanaged this essential service.

Both parties have had scandals and made mistakes. I'm hoping for a coalition government with a few independents and a few conservatives holding the balance of power, with more accountability for all political decisions.
