Several kid-focused events are happening at Surrey's heritage facilities this month.
At Historic Stewart Farm in South Surrey, an Olde Harvest Fair offers a chance to celebrate a traditional harvest festival on Saturday, Sept. 21, from noon to 3 p.m. The drop-in event will feature old-fashioned activities and crafts, orchard tours and ciderpress demonstrations, plus local food, live music and the opening of the feature exhibit "Nobody Here But Us Chickens," at 13723 Crescent Rd. At Surrey Museum, a Discover Saturday event on Sept. 21 focuses on the German Oktoberfest tradition, with polka music, language lessons, games and take-home crafts, from 1 to 4 p.m. at 1771 56A Ave.
Starting Sept. 17 at Kensington Prairie Community Centre, a five-session Beatrix Potter and Friends series offers a look at animal friends through stories, games and crafts, for kids age three to six. The series fee is $52.25; call 604-592-6956 for info.
