Crash cuts power to hundreds in South Surrey

Hundreds of South Surrey households and businesses lost power early Wednesday morning when a minivan smashed into a BC Hydro pole, cutting it in half. The crash, which injured no one, happened shortly before 7 a.m. at 28th Avenue and 152nd Street. The driver, a 26-year-old Surrey man, had allegedly swerved to miss a pedestrian. He was given a ticket for driving without due consideration.
