Canadian blues icon Big Dave McLean sets up for a gig at Crescent Beach Legion hall this Saturday night, Feb. 2.
McLean will be joined on stage by Paul Pigat, Chris Noel and Adam Drake - a rare reunion of friends and musicians. A few surprise guests are also expected at the show.
McLean, a gifted guitarist and harmonica player, is considered one of the top blues musicians in Canada. He started out on harmonica in the early 1960s and had his first guitar lesson from John Hammond at Mariposa Folk Festival in 1969. Hammond and, later, Muddy Waters became McLean's lifelong musical heroes and friends.
Tickets are $20 for his show at the Legion. For details, call 778-773-3801 or 604-613-4124.
