Friday, Feb. 8 is the application deadline for the Arts Club Mini Musical Theatre Intensive, set to happen during spring break at Surrey Arts Centre.

Young performers (ages 12 to 16) who are at a beginner to intermediate level have the opportunity to spend one week learning from industry pros during the workshop, held March 18 to 22 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily).

Program director Peter Jorgensen aims to help talented students gain the skills, confidence and contacts necessary to continue their musical theatre education and pursue their dreams.

"We don't just teach the notes of the song and the steps of the dance, we give our students the skills to understand, interpret and communicate the story," Jorgensen said.
