A third edition of the South End Summit concert will make the Wheelhouse Theatre ring with big-band music on Saturday, Jan. 19.

Senior jazz bands from Elgin Park, Semiahmoo and Earl Marriott secondary schools perform at the yearly event, presented by Semiahmoo Arts.

This year's special guest is Vince Mai, a trumpeter known for his work with a variety of jazz and funk groups. Mai has shared stages with the likes of Tom Jones, David Foster, The Temptations and Natalie Cole.

The guest emcee for 2013 is Margaret Gallagher, host of CBC Radio One's "Hot Air" program.
