SAM ROBERTS BAND

(Chevron Mainstage, 8: 45 p.m.)

This pop-rock singer and guitar player, raised in Montreal, brings some Juno Award-winning songs to Surrey's Canada Day party. Roberts and band have recorded several hits since breaking out in 2001, including "Brother Down," "Don't Walk Away Eileen," "Where Have All the Good People Gone," "Fixed to Ruin" and "Detroit 67."

HANNAH GEORGAS

(Chevron Mainstage, 7: 30 p.m.)

Trumping the name of her critically adored debut album, Hannah Georgas has had a better than "Good" year since releasing her debut This Is Good in April, 2010. The album, produced by Ryan Guldemond (of the band Mother Mother) and Howard Redekopp, displays a montage of a self-assured singer-songwriter and rock heroine. The Vancouver-based Georgas and her debut have garnered national acclaim.

JORDAN COOK

(Chevron Mainstage, 6: 30 p.m.)

The Canadian-born Cook has just released his new full-length album, Seven Deadly Sins. The songs were jammed out over a period of years with amazing musicians, like bass player Ben Shepherd (Sound garden), drummer Matt Chamberlain (Pearl Jam, David Bowie), and input from producers like The Matrix (Korn, Avril Lavigne) and Howard Bilerman (The Arcade Fire).

JERRY DOUCETTE

(Chevron Mainstage, 5: 30 p.m.)

The man behind the huge hit "Mama Let Him Play" has been making music since he was a kid, in Montreal and Hamilton. These days, the Delta resident continues to rock with a band that features Doug Elliot (bass), Marco Ibarra (drums) and Paul Kaip (guitar). Doucette is online at www. jerrydoucette.ca.

BLAZE OF GLORY - BON JOVI TRIBUTE

ANDREW ALLEN

Spend a bit of time with Andrew Allen and it quickly becomes clear why this singer, songwriter, and musician has already become a successful recording artist in his native Canada: sheer force of will. Allen's DIY ability and optimistic attitude have served him well. He has scored three top-10 hits in Canada, including "I Wanna Be Your Christmas," "I Want You" and "Loving You Tonight."

THE HIGH BAR GANG

(Chevron Mainstage, 2: 30 p.m.)

The High Bar Gang was formed in the spring of 2010 when band member Colin Nairne wanted to play his favourite bluegrass songs and called on his friends to join in. The band features Angela Harris (vocals), Barney Bentall (vocals/ acoustic guitar), Nairne (vocals/acoustic guitar/mandolin), Eric Reed (banjo/ mandolin/acoustic guitar/dobro), Rob Becker (vocals/stand-up bass), Shari Ulrich (vocals/fiddle mandolin) and Wendy Bird (vocals). Together, they play a unique interpretation of some of the greatest classic and contemporary gospel, bluegrass, traditional country and Appalachian folk songs.

SHYAMA PRIYA, CRIS DERKSEN & THE WILD MOCCASINS DANCERS

(Chevron Mainstage, noon)

Shyama-Priya is an accomplished pow wow dancer and has danced at various events from local to international. As well as performing, she teaches dance to all ages from preschoolers to adults. One of her many notable appearances was sharing the stage with Nelly Furtado and Bryan Adams for the 2010 Winter Olympics opening ceremonies. A rising star on the Canadian music scene, cellist Cris Derksen is known for captivating solo performances, building layers of sound into often surprisingly slamming dance music.

WILL STROET

Stroet, an award-winning bilingual children's musician from Vancouver, connects with kids through high-energy, interactive and educational music in English and French. From folk to rock to pop inspired tunes about active living, sports, animals and the environment, Stroet's guitar-driven music appeals to kids of all ages.

PEAK PERFORMANCE PROJECT STAGES

The 20 finalists in this year's edition of the Peak Performance Project band contest will perform on two stages at Surrey's Canada Day event, on a rotating schedule (just like last year). The bands are Alexandria Maillot, Ali Milner, Beekeeper, Dear Rouge, Dominique Fricot, Facts, Fields of Green, Georgia Murray, Headwater, Jordan Klassen, Maurice, Mike Edel, Portage and Main, Redgy Blackout, T.
