A brand of guitar amps used by some high-profile rockers has found its way "home" to White Rock.

Wizard amps were first created here by Rick St. Pierre, who went on to tour and record with AC/DC as an amp tech. Wizard gear is now endorsed by the likes of Aerosmith, ZZ Top and Metallica's James Hetfield.

Tapestry Music in White Rock recently began selling Wizard amps as an exclusive dealer in the region.

"For many, this will be the first opportunity to actually plug in and try a Wizard," said Dave Sabourin, store owner.

St. Pierre is thrilled to sell Wizards at Tapestry.

"White Rock is very special to me," he told the Now. "(The city) is the birthplace of Wizard Amplification (close to 25 years ago), and it's something I've always wanted the world to know."
