The City of Surrey's PARKit program - a pop-up park outside the Surrey Central SkyTrain - has extended its food cart service into September.
Food carts will be on site from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day, now through Sept. 13. The vendors include Taj Tadka, Old Country Pierogi, Fijian Fusion, Cubano BBQ and Fliptop Filipino Fusion.
Currently in its second year, PARKit aims to create green park spaces in urban areas.
Earlier this year, the city challenged designers to create a pop-up park. The winning submission was Take-Out, which took inspiration from the simple, clean design of the origami-like folded boxes and has planters, tables and seats shaped like the containers.
Like real cardboard takeout containers, the entire park is recyclable - it's primarily made from used plywood, and the white material wrapped around the boxes came from the old Canada Place sails.
