A ban on all outdoor fires is in full effect.

"No new burning permits will be issued and all existing permits are hereby suspended until further notice," Deputy Fire Chief Karen Fry said.

Fry also reminds smokers not to chuck their cigarette butts out their car windows as the cinders often start fires along boulevard medians.
