Jen Boyle is busy getting ready for her first art show.

Readers may know her better as Jen Hanover, her maiden name from when she wrote a column for the Now when she was the owner of Bikram Yoga White Rock.

Since selling her studio in December last year, Boyle has kept busy with teaching yoga, writing for her new blog, Peace and Hotness, as well as for a website called The Vegan Project she started with friends.

And of course, she has turned her attention to painting.

"Painting and writing go hand in hand for me," she writes on Peace and Hotness, "and the pieces I'll be showing will eventually be a part of a series of books I'm working on called 'Snobology'."

Boyle is setting up a Facebook event page where people can catch a sneak peek of her work, and will be blogging about it on Peace and Hotness too.

Her artwork will be on display for the inaugural show at Small Ritual Coffee Society, 1237 Johnston Rd. in White Rock. The exhibit starts on Wednesday, Dec. 5 and continues to Wednesday, Jan. 2.
