Health shuttle given green light

Fraser Health is keeping its Central Surrey Health Shuttle, following a three-month pilot project that began in September.

The shuttle transports patients, physicians, other health services staff and volunteers between the King George SkyTrain Station, Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre, Surrey Memorial Hospital and Central City shopping mall, five days a week.

Fraser Health spokeswoman Tasleem Juma said more than 3,000 riders - about 100 per day - used the service during the pilot project. "That's 100 car trips not happening" per day, she noted.
