VOLUNTEERING

Surrey Christmas Bureau needs volunteers to stock shelves, sort items, help with registration and help in the office. Orientation sessions are planned. Call 604-5819623 to register as a volunteer.

Volunteer literacy tutors needed by Learning Disabilities Association: "Help a child who is struggling to read and write. ACTIVITIES

Surrey International Folk Dancing Society meets Thursday evenings (Sept. to June) at Walnut Road Elementary, 16152 82nd Ave., North Surrey, from 7-10 p.m. Beginners welcome. No partner or costume required. "A fun way to exercise and keep your mind active." Info: www.surreyfolkdance.org.

Dutch-Canadian Cultural Society of Greater Vancouver, incorporated in 1965, has goal "to provide entertaining venues in the Lower Mainland whereby Dutch-Canadians and their friends can come together to preserve, enhance and celebrate, their heritage and cultural traditions." Ubuntu Ogogo: "Compassionate grandmothers" group meets on second Wednesday of month at Fleetwood Villa, 16028 83rd Ave., from 9: 30 a.m. to noon. Woodcarvers in Cloverdale: Club consists of beginners and experts who love to carve and share their skills with new members. North Delta Family Resource Centre: "Are you a North Delta or Surrey parent of a child under the age of six? Would you like to meet weekly with other moms to discuss parenting and personal issues?
