I have just read with disgust the Q&A with Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts.
Her view of the city is most interesting and provides a little insight into her (and her council's) intentions. As an example, she mentions that she does want traffic congestion to ruin our quality of life.
Hot news - it already is, with the heavy truck traffic on our streets, parking in residential areas, dangerously poor roads that are deteriorating by the week (like 64th Avenue and Scott Road), and endless building permits being issued for townhomes wherever there appears to be a piece of vacant land.
Our city's next motto should be, "Surrey - Overpopulation, Monster Homes, High Taxes, Climbing Crime Rate and National Immigrant Capital of Canada."
