Re: "Roads are too rough," the Now letters, Sept. 3.
I completely agree with Allan Biron. I drive along 64th Avenue every day. When I saw they had painted the lines on 64th a few weeks back, I emailed the City of Surrey with my concerns. If they had painted, they were complete and had no intention of paving, which seemed incredible to me as you need a 4x4 and a kidney belt to drive down 64th Avenue.
A fellow from the city called me, and said that the city was asking it be paved as they were not satisfied with the condition it has been left in, but the contractor thought it was fine. He assured me that one way or another it would be paved.
My suggestion is this: whoever the contractor is, that should be the last city job they are awarded. The road is horrible and should be paved immediately.
