Employees of a local Scotiabank branch are hosting their annual barbecue this Friday to help out the Surrey Food Bank.

The event, in conjunction with the Newton fire hall's firefighters, runs from 11 a.m. to 4: 30 p.m. in the Scotiabank parking lot at 13790 72nd Ave. in Surrey.

The goal is raise $5,000, which Scotiabank will match for a total of $10,000. And 100 per cent of proceeds will go directly to Surrey Food Bank.
