The Editor,
Re: "Dogs now OK on West Beach all year," the Now, June 7.
Let me enlighten some of the "concerned" citizens who are not happy with this decision. They feel that it would be contrary to what the Ministry of Environment or what the DFO might allow.
Well, the same agencies that they are concerned about allow the GVRD to dump millions of litres of raw sewage into our waters around the Lower Mainland, including White Rock.
Furthermore, most White Rock dog owners are responsible pet owners and pick up after their dogs. If there are the odd few that don't, well bylaw enforcement officers can deal with them.
Thank you, councillors, for amending this bylaw that previously restricted Echo and I from enjoying our beach.
