Delta's firefighters are coming together to help one of their own. On Friday, Nov. 2, Delta Firefighters Local 1763 is hosting a pub night to raise money to help fellow firefighter Mike Bjarnason and his family.

Bjarnason's wife, Jennifer, recently became paralyzed due to a previously undiagnosed medical condition. The family, which includes the couple's two young children, is trying to convert and reconfigure their home and vehicle to work with a wheelchair.

The event is being held at Shady Island Pub in Richmond from 4: 30 until 11 p.m. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at any Delta fire hall. Donations can also be made online at www.indiegogo.com/raisingaglassforjennifer.
