Over the past 10 years (2002-2012), the enrolment of independent schools in B.C. has increased by approximately 9,500 students, or 15 per cent.

So says the Federation of Independent School Associations (FISA), an umbrella association for independent school groups in British Columbia; FISA also acts as a spokesperson and advocate for its members, representing more than 90 per cent of the independent school enrolment in B.C.

In Surrey, FISA member schools include Bibleway Christian Academy, Cloverdale Catholic School, Cloverdale Christian School, Cornerstone Montessori School, G.A.D. Elementary School, Holy Cross Regional High School, iLearn BC School, Iqra Islamic School, Khalsa School Surrey, Our Lady of Good Counsel School, Pacific Academy, Regent Christian Academy, Sikh Academy, Southridge School, St. Bernadette School, St. Matthew's Elementary, Star Of The Sea School, Surrey Christian School, Traditional Learning Academy, White Rock Christian Academy and William of Orange Christian Elementary School.

In Delta, FISA members schools include Boundary Bay Montessori House, Delta Christian School, Immaculate Conception School and Sacred Heart School.
