SURREY - Police have released a composite drawing of a man accused of beating and sexually assaulting a woman last month in Newton's Unwin Park.

The 31-year-old victim was walking home when her attacker emerged from some bushes in the 13300-block of 68th Avenue.

"The male violently physically and sexually assaulted the female while threatening to take her life," Surrey RCMP Sgt. Drew Grainger said.

The attacker is described as white, in his 30s or 40s, about six feet tall, muscular, clean-shaven and had light brown buzz-cut hair. He wore a backpack and had large headphones around his neck.

Police ask anyone with information to contact the Surrey RCMP's Child Abuse and Sexual Offence (CASO) unit at 604-599-0502 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
