Hundreds of children and parents will converge on a pair of Surrey venues for this weekend's Surrey Kids Conference.

The sixth annual event offers a wide range of free workshops and educational sessions on Friday, Nov. 16 (at Surrey Sport & Leisure Complex) and Saturday, Nov. 17 (Fleetwood Community Centre).

The conference is held annually during the week of International Children's Day, on Nov. 20 this year.

The event theme this year in Surrey is "Our Rights & Our Responsibilities."

Activities include sledge hockey lessons, a "Choose Healthy, Eat Right!" workshop, a SuperChefs demo, "A Day in the Life of a Wildlife Rescuer" session and tips to keep kids safe on the internet. For registration info, call 604-501-5100 or visit www.surrey.ca/register.
