Thanks for article on traffic reporters

The Editor,

Re: "Traffic eyes in the sky aim high," the Now, Oct. 18.

I've recently retired/returned from travel to Montreal and New York City (spending lots of time in traffic volumes) so this is my first morning to savour one of retirement's better perks - a relaxing second cup of coffee and time to read a newspaper.

As a former daily commuter, I've always wondered about the lovely voices in the sky while we listened to the traffic reports when stuck in the stalled traffic - so I enjoyed your description of the traffic reporters.

As a long-term Peninsula resident, it was nice to discover the connection to our local communities so I have scanned your article and emailed it to my daughter who lives and works in Manhattan. Although she has been in New York City for five years now, she still likes to keep informed on the local news so I often send her articles.

My appreciation to both you and "the eyes in the sky" for the good jobs that you do.

Mary Laurin, Surrey
