Re: "Crack down on Diwali," the Now letters, Nov. 20.

I will have to agree with the writer about "fireworks" on Diwali, considering that there is a ban on fireworks in Surrey.

I live in the area of 64th Avenue and 121st Street.

The fireworks on Nov. 12 sounded like a war. It started shortly after 5 p.m. and continued non stop until midnight - and these were not small fireworks, they were the big cannon types.

Mayor Dianne Watts, what is happening? I am a taxpayer of Surrey, too. I am truly disappointed in the fact that you cannot stand behind your "rules."
