SURREY — Van Gogh Designs has thrown its support behind the Surrey Food Bank’s new program specifically for seniors.
Kora Pridy from Van Gogh Designs was on hand at the food bank for the first seniors distribution day, on Sept. 11.
As part of the event, aimed at those 65 and older who need a helping hand to make ends meet, the food bank presented its new “Proper Nutrition for Seniors” program and had local chef Marilyn Pearson and staff from Cuisine and Company on hand to demonstrate healthy recipes using the contents of the food hamper.
Surrey Food Bank is also partnering with Oak Avenue Neighbourhood Hub to set up an information table that will highlight seniors programs.
Van Gogh Designs and others in the 65+ Pledge Club commit to making monthly or yearly donations to support the initiative.
