A celebration of the life of Mary-Wade Anderson is set for Wednesday, July 11.

The long time city councillor passed away from heart complications on June 26 at the age of 84, four weeks after she was admitted to Peace Arch Hospital.

Anderson served on White Rock city council for 12 years and served on many committees and board during that time.

A byelection will be held this fall to fill Anderson's spot on city council.

The public memorial will run from 2 to 4 p.m. on July 11 at the White Rock Community Centre, 15154 Russell Ave. in rooms A, B and C.
