Four men have been shot dead in Surrey since Sunday night and while police believe two of the shootings were gang related, they say they have no evidence that would connect the crimes.

"No, not at this point," Sgt. Jennifer Pound, spokeswoman for the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, said Tuesday afternoon.

Police have not yet released the name of a man who was found in an alley in Bridgeview, suffering from gunshot wounds, just before 2 a.m. Tuesday. The victim died at the scene, near 127th Street and 112B Avenue.

Neighbours heard as many as six shots. On Tuesday morning, IHIT had much of the neighbourhood cordoned off with yellow police tape as officers search the snow-covered ground for clues.

One woman who said she's lived in Bridgeview for 18 years, with her home abutting the lane, said her neighbourhood is a pleasant place to live.

"This is the first time this has happened near my house," said the woman, who asked that her name not be published. "Everybody watches each other."

Pound confirmed the shooting was "a targeted, gang-related homicide," as was the Sunday night shooting death of 27-year-old Surrey resident Manjot Dhillon. Dhillon was found lying in the road, near 168th Street and 76th Avenue, at about 7 p.m.

Dhillon died in hospital at 11:30 p.m. Within minutes of his death, there was another shooting, this time in Whalley.

Two men, whose names have not yet been released, were gunned down in a Cedar Hills parkade, in the 9400-block of 128th Street.

"The victims have not been identified and a motive has not been determined," Pound said. Police are looking for a green SUV or pickup truck seen towing a box utility trailer from the scene.

Police anyone with information about these shootings to leave a message on the IHIT tip line at 1-877-551-IHIT(4448).
