Calgary man charged in North Delta limo driver's death

 

 
 
 

A Calgary man has been charged with impaired driving causing death in connection with a traffic crash that killed a North Delta man near Whistler on Jan. 28.

Shafiqur Rahman, 54, died when the limousine he was driving was hit by a pickup truck on the Sea to Sky Highway. Jacob Mitzimberg, 20, of Calgary has been charged with impaired driving causing death and dangerous driving causing death. Police allege Mitzimberg was impaired by drugs at the time of the crash.

The limo burst into flames and Rahman was trapped inside.

Mitzimberg is expected to appear in court in North Vancouver on Dec. 5.
