The Editor,

Re: "Watch the language," the Now letters, July 10.

Well, I must be a fuddy duddy too because I agree with Keith Wilson regarding the use of offensive words.

Do people have such limited vocabulary that they have to resort to using crude language or is it becoming the new norm?

I regularly hear people add expletives to their sentences like it was a regular part of their speech. As a school teacher, I instill in my students the value of choosing their words wisely and having respect for themselves. Using coarse language is a poor form of self-expression.

There needs to be a return to polite and proper language in public.

How someone speaks in private is their own business but they should show more respect for others in public by holding their tongues and choosing better vocabulary to express themselves.
