Police believe Brett Sheldon Lietz, 54, and Nicole Madelynn Brochu, 40, were shot dead where they fell along Colebrook Road.
The bodies of the pair, who police say were roommates, were discovered near 125A Street along Colebrook Road early Wednesday morning.
Sgt. Jennifer Pound, spokeswoman for the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, said Lietz did not have a criminal record but Brochu did, dating from 1989 to 2003.
Pound said a motive for the killings hasn't yet been established. "It appears the cause of death was gunshot wounds, however an autopsy will be conducted throughout the next two days to confirm."
"We do know the two victims were known to each other as they were living together as roommates," she said. "IHIT is also looking into the possibility that these two recent victims were not just dumped on Colebrook. It is likely that this shooting occurred on Colebrook Road where the bodies were located."
Theirs makes four bodies found along the rural road so far this year.
The charred body of 29-year-old Delta resident Amritpal Saran was found in the 12100-block of Colebrook Road on Feb. 24, and the body of Jaskaran Singh Sandhu, 26, was found in some grass beside Colebrook Road, in the 12300-block, on Jan. 28th.
Sandhu had survived an attempt on his life in September 2011, at a Mr. Lube on Barnett Highway in Coquitlam.
"It's very early to say conclusively that all of the four victims found at this location are unrelated to each other," Pound said. "However, the flow of evidence to date supports the theory that they are not connected and only one of the victims had gang connections."
