The SandPiper Pub is currently serving a 17-day suspension of its liquor licence following two incidents of overcrowding this past summer.

According to a spokesperson for the Liquor Control and Licensing Branch, the first overcrowding incident occurred in June 2012 and the other in July. The SandPiper Pub's suspension began Jan. 5 and will run through to Jan. 21. During that time, the establishment will remain closed.

The pub is co-owned by White Rock Coun. Bill Lawrence. Lawrence did not return the Now's phone calls before press time.
