It'll be a "Fire and Ice" show when Mad Science returns to George Mackie Library in North Delta on Wednesday, Aug. 1.

The morning event (10: 30 to 11: 30 a.m.) offers a chance for kids to discover "the cool chemistry behind the states of matter and learn the intriguing basics of air pressure," among other scientific stuff. "Scissors will sizzle and carbon dioxide will bubble as the chilling properties of dry ice are revealed."
