Surrey firefighters marked the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks against the U.S. with a special ceremony Tuesday morning in Whalley to remember the firefighters who were killed.

"We will always remember the response of firefighters on Sept. 11, 2001, and never forget the sacrifices they made," said Mike McNamara, president of the Surrey Firefighters Association.

"Our ceremony is dedicated to those who have fallen and to those who carry on."

The ceremony happened at the west end of Holland Park near Old Yale Road and Whalley Ring Road.
