Surrey Mounties and firefighters are trying to determine what caused a suspicious fire Friday night that destroyed two trailer homes and damaged three others in Bridgeview.

No one was injured in the blaze, at the trailer park at 12662 112A Ave., but 15 people were left homeless.

"Upon arrival it was learned that a loud explosion had occurred," Surrey RCMP Staff Sgt. Warren Tyson said. This was at about 8 p.m.

Cpl. Bert Paquet said Monday that emergency social services had, up to that point, found temporary shelter for 10 of the displaced residents.

"We are still going through the scene," Paquet said Monday. "It is still being treated as a suspicious fire at this point."
