SEND A ROSE OR ROTTEN TOMATO WITH

Rotten tomatoes to the Delta police officer who spends his Friday nights pulling over young novice drivers and accusing them of being on drugs with no proof, other than having red eyes. My eyes are red right now from working all day or perhaps because I am tired. I am sure there must be other things you could be doing to protect our community beside disrupting and causing hardship for these young drivers.

I had reason to call the non-emergency police line this week as I was concerned about activity on my block. The police were there within 15 minutes and sorted everything out, calling me by phone before leaving the scene. This kind of service deserves a bouquet of roses once in a while and makes me sleep safer at night!

Rotten tomatoes to the parent who - while talking on her cellphone - called the Canadian anthem a "stupid song" and stormed out of the school when it was played. What a stellar example of respect for Canada you showed the children standing there. When I informed you that the "stupid song" was our national anthem, you called me some really ugly names. If you have such contempt for Canada, move!

Sweet fragrant roses to 'Terra' for blessing my daughter with kind words, encouragement and a generous gift before her surgery last week. You touched our hearts and gave us a sweet story to tell each one of her visitors. We are praying that you also would receive healing in your arm.

Rotten tomatoes to the person who backed into my white RX-8 in the parking lot at Save-On Foods or across the street at the dry cleaners.

Thanks to you, I have to fork out a few hundred dollars to have it repaired. Remember, what goes around comes around!

Roses to the person who delivers the 'Now' to my house and always puts it into the mailbox. I enjoy reading the clean, dry newspaper (and having readable advertising flyers).

Rotten tomatoes to folks who pick up their dog poop in a plastic bag, knot it and then toss it into the ditch or our farm field. Better to leave it unbagged (to wash into our waterways from the edge of the road).
