Close to six tons of paper materials were recycled during a Shred-It event at Semiahmoo Shopping Centre Sept. 15 in an event co-hosted by the District 5 RCMP office in South Surrey and the local SOURCES food bank. People were encouraged to bring their documents for safe, secure shredding by the 1-800-Shredding company; donations of cash or non-perishable food items to Sources White Rock/South Surrey Food Bank were encouraged, resulting in $3,027 in cash donations and another 657 pounds in donated food.
