Surrey artist wins auto poster contest
 

Surrey-based artist Alex Boiesan has won the contest to design an official poster for this year's Vancouver International Auto Show, which will run from March 23 to 31. Boiesan, 23, pockets $1,200 for his winning "Evolution" poster design. "I wanted to communicate to viewers the richness of history and technological innovation that can be found at the (auto show)," he said. "The imagery in my design was created to convey the progression of automotive design through different cultural eras." Boiesan, a graduate of Semiahmoo Secondary and originally from Romania, now studies at Emily Carr University of Art & Design in Vancouver. His work is online at www.alexboiesan.com.
