Surrey pit bull takes a bullet for its owner
He's the baddest dog in the whole damn town.
Surrey Mounties are investigating a burglary in Bridgeview after a pit bull named Leroy took a bullet for his owner.
Police were alerted to the break-in after a Bridgeview man took the dog to a veterinarian.
The break-in happened in the 12300-block of 112A Avenue, at about 6 p.m. Thursday. Surrey RCMP Sgt. Drew Grainger said police found the front door kicked in. The dog was home alone when it was shot. Nothing was stolen.
Leroy is expected to recover from his wound, Grainger said.
