The Editor,
The implication that Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts and council are unable to make an objective decision about the proposal for an entertainment complex in South Surrey is simply unfair.
Watts and her colleagues have guided this city through a period of extraordinary growth, always putting the public interest first. I hope that the City of Surrey provides its support to this proposal. It's a sound development that will add much needed amenities to the city, including a new convention centre. And it will provide good jobs and new tax revenue to pay for the services we rely on.
Whatever is decided, I trust the mayor and council will make an objective decision based on what's best for the city.
