SURREY - Surrey firefighters fought a blaze at the former Surrey Public Market late Thursday afternoon which appears to have been set inside the derelict building.
Deputy Fire Chief John Caviglia said investigators have yet to determine if squatters lit the fire, or if someone up to no good set it.
"It could have been accidental," he noted.
Nobody was injured in the fire. Firefighters were alerted to it at about 5:30 p.m.
The 40,000-square foot building, at the southeast corner of 64th Avenue and King George Boulevard, has been abandoned for years.
