Surrey firefighters provided the official escort as Mayor Dianne Watts entered the 104 Avenue Centre Friday night for the 2011 Mayor's Charity Ball benefitting the Surrey Firefighters' Charitable Society.
The gala event - dubbed an Illuminated Evening - attracted more than 700 attendees, including mayor and council. Numerous sponsors from the local business community helped support the event, with funds raised going to the various charities supported by the Firefighters' Charitable Fund, which focuses on Surrey's children, youth and families.
