The judge presiding over the obstruction of justice trial for RCMP Cpl. Benjamin "Monty" Robinson is expected to deliver her verdict later this week.
When the trial wrapped up in New Westminster last month, B.C. Supreme Court Justice Janice Dillon reserved judgment until March 23. Robinson was charged following the 2008 crash in Tsawwassen that killed Orion Hutchinson. The 21-year-old died after the motorcycle he was driving collided with Robinson's Jeep.
Robinson's charge stems from his actions following the crash. The off-duty officer left the scene of the collision and walked home, a short distance away. He returned 10 minutes later and advised police he had two beer at a party earlier and two shots of vodka at home.
