Two men have been charged with second-degree murder in the May 3rd shooting death of Noel Jackson in Surrey.

Jackson, 21, was gunned down in a basement suite at 12432-70th Ave., just around the corner from Surrey's Khalsa School. Police at the time said Jackson had a criminal record in Ontario and had relocated to the Lower Mainland shortly before he was shot. They do not believe the shooting was gang related.

Jonathan Michael Kishimoto, 21, and Michael Alexander Ross, 24, have been charged with murder.

Sgt. Jennifer Pound, spokeswoman for the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, said Jackson had been among a small group of people who returned to the Newton house after being at a local drinking hole together.

"A verbal disagreement ensued and two of the male individuals left the residence only to return a short time later with a firearm and an additional male acquaintance," she said.

Pound said two of the three men are alleged to have shot Jackson inside the house while the third waited outside. Pound noted that the individual police believe to have been the third man was himself shot later in the summer.

"To obtain charge approval on two individuals just six months after the homicide of Mr. Jackson speaks to the persistence and tenacity of each of our IHIT investigators," Pound said.
