Delta Police are looking for three robbery suspects after one man was beaten and another man was shot in a North Delta strip mall parking lot early Tuesday evening.

It happened outside Scott Village, in the 9300-block of Scott Road, at 6:20 p.m.

Const. Ciaran Feenan said the victims were leaving a store when three other men confronted them. There was a fight, leading to the beating and stabbing. Both victims were taken to hospital to be treated for injuries that weren't considered to be life threatening.

Feenan said the suspects took off in a car, but he didn't have a description. He said neither of the victims were on police radar and that it's not yet known if they were targeted or simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"Certainly that's something they'll be investigating," he said. Feenan said he's not sure if the suspects actually took anything from the victims, or just tried to. "We're treating it as a robbery," he said.

Several shots were fired. There were other people in the area at the time, Feenan noted.

"The parking lot was quite full."

Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage, he said. Police ask witnesses to contact the Delta Police at 604-946-4411 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
