Many red roses to the staff of Kal-Tire on King George Boulevard in Surrey for the wonderful assistance and assurance they gave a young mother who came into their shop with a tire problem. They were polite, efficient and most accommodating, offering their services free of charge. Our family will definitely give them business in the future.
Rotten tomatoes to the person who insists on sharing my recycling bin. It seems your idea of sharing is one way. I ordered the bin from the city. I pay for it on my taxes. I fill it up. You didn't have the manners to ask if you could share, rather you come at night and overload the bin. I was always taught to respect others...
A bouquet of roses to the lovely lady who offered to help me after I fell outside by Joe's Farmers' Market in Peninsula Village. Thank you sincerely for your kindness and support.
Rotten tomatoes to the Now reader who wrote that Surrey is "the national immigrant capital of Canada." Shame on you! I guess your mother never taught you, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."
Rotten tomatoes back to the person who wrote about their neighbour's puppy - and has not reported the suffering/abuse to the SPCA for two years! Shame on you and the pup's owner. I'll send you a doghouse full of red roses when you pick up the phone and do the right thing.
A kitty litter box of rotten tomatoes to the person who has an issue with cat owners - do tell us! I like to know why you don't like us. It might shed some light on why my old cat has vanished and why a few years back my other cat came home with his tail chopped off!
A sleigh full of rotten green and red tomatoes to all the stores pushing Christmas in September. I'm not a grinch - I love Christmas. I just don't want four months of it! When did this become acceptable? I will be boycotting the stores doing this. Who's with me?
An SUV full of the most rotten tomatoes to the lady who hit my car with a shopping buggy the other day at Mary's Garden. She ranted and raved that it was not her fault and figured I should pay for having it fixed. She even tried to convince a gentleman who saw it that it was not her fault. Lady, own up to your faults. You are not setting a good example for your kids.
Rotten tomatoes to speeders who, despite all the recent news stories about fatal crashes, continue to be in such a hurry as to put our lives at risk. Roses to the Now for bringing these crashes to our attention. Hopefully, your stories and photos will give pause to pedestrians and drivers alike and will save some lives on our streets and sidewalks.
Rotten tomatoes to the editor. I find the tone and name calling in this regular column appalling. Calling someone's child an idiot! How is that OK? You could have left out that word and still made a point. As to the puppy left alone for two years, why are you not reporting that to the SPCA? They will come and check out the situation. Also, calling out cat owners? How does your hate justify this? I know there are horrible people out there, but this hatred-filled spewing is not acceptable behaviour either.
A bouquet of roses to the entire team at Jim Pattison Outpatient for their outstanding professionalism and care. I had surgery related to a melanoma. The entire staff, from pre-admission to post-op, were kind, knowledgeable and informative every step of the way.
A truckload of rotten tomatoes to the person who wrote about the mom who reads to your kid's class in her native tongue. Get off your butt and do it yourself if you don't like it. At least she's volunteering her time!
