Two Surrey hockey players are making alternate plans for Christmas after being selected to attend the National Junior Team selection camp.

On Monday, Hockey Canada announced a list of 37 junior players who had made the final list for the selection camp, which runs Dec. 11-13, 2012 at the Markin MacPhail Centre at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary.

Included in the final roster were a pair of Surrey players, goaltender Laurent Brossoit of the Edmonton Oil Kings and defenceman Tyler Wotherspoon of the Portland Winterhawks.

Both Brossoit and Wotherspoon are draft picks of the NHL's Calgary Flames.

In total, 31 of the players named to the selection camp roster were drafted in either the 2011 or 2012 NHL Entry Drafts, including 13 first-round selections and eight second-round picks.

The selection camp will feature one Red-White intrasquad game on Dec. 11, and two games against teams from Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) on Dec. 12 and 13. The CIS teams will be comprised of players from the University of Calgary, University of Alberta and Mount Royal University.

Canada's National Junior Team will depart for Europe on Dec. 15, and play two pre-competition games in Helsinki, Finland prior to the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship.
