With late-game heroics, the Delta United Hurricanes beat the Coquitlam Metro-Ford Wolves 2-1.
Hurricanes coach Rob Jandric said it was a tough but satisfying win against a perennial rival.
"Metro-Ford played phenomenal," said Jandric, who also commented on the play of opposing midfielder Alfredo Valente.
"He is a great player and was difficult to contain during the game."
With the win, Delta United moves one point ahead of Coquitlam Metro-Ford, and into seventh place in the VMSL premier division. Delta's next game is Sunday, Jan. 6 against West Van FC "A" at John Oliver, 2 p.m.
