The school spirit at Seaquam Secondary is undeniable - and the Seahawks can back it up on a scoreboard.
Seaquam is currently involved in a nationwide search to discover the school with the best spirit.
Sponsored by athletic apparel giant Under Armour, the Finding Undeniable contest rewards schools with points for each challenge met.
Top prize is $100,000 in Under Armour athletic gear.
"The students have really taken charge of this," said Seaquam athletic director Bryan Fischer. "We have a group of students who are really into it. The student council has gotten involved in it and the student body has really embraced it - especially the kids who are involved in school teams.
"It's been really good because we have pockets of students from different areas of the school who are involved in this. Once the students started to see results and to see their pictures and videos up online, they really started to embrace it. The ball really got rolling after that."
Only three B.C. schools are in the top 50 schools listed on the contest website (findingundeniable.ca). As of Wednesday morning, Seaquam was in 10th place in the standings with one week to go. Kelowna Secondary and Notre Dame High School in Vancouver were much farther back.
The contest closes on Nov. 27. At that point, the top two schools in the standings will advance to the next round of challenges, as will two wildcard schools.
"This contest has really generated a ton of school spirit among the kids and hopefully it will carry on even after this is over," Fischer said. "We're definitely becoming move visible in the community as well because we're one of only three B.C. schools who are active in this. In Delta and Surrey we're getting noticed because of this and hopefully that will continue. If nothing else, this is something the kids have really enjoyed; it's been a lot of fun."
The boost in school spirit is a nice bonus, but the big prize up for grabs is something most schools would love to win. With budget cutbacks making money for athletic teams scarce, $100,000 in new apparel and equipment is a plum prize that would make the bookkeeping easier.
"We would just be beside ourselves if we ended up winning a prize like that," Fischer said. "It would be just incredible to win that."
